Jim & April Starkey lived in Les Cayes, Haiti for three years, working with RMI and in 2025 moved to Santiago, Dominican Republic to open up a field for RMI there. Jim is the Field Director for the Dominican Republic and also still helps with the internet system in Haiti. Jim works with the local Dominican & Haitian church leadership to see the needs and how RMI can come alongside to serve & love the people and communities. He goes out with the teams as well when they are here. April is part of RMI’s field photojournalist team that goes out and captures all that RMI is doing, to bring the updates and stories to our C3 partnerships in the states. April will be working alongside Jim in receiving teams and serving the people in the Dominican. April homeschools their children and is part of an active homeschooling community in the Dominican Republic. Jim and April are originally from Ohio. They have been married since May of 2005 and are high school sweethearts. As a family, they love the outdoors, hiking, adventure and exploring God’s beautiful creation.
