DR Update: Ezra Institute is on the Move

We recently wrapped up three incredible conferences, and it was encouraging to see how God moved in each distinct group:

  • Young Adults Conference: (Santiago) Before the program even began or food was served, students gathered outside in the yard to sit with the professor and have spontaneous conversations. It was so refreshing to witness their genuine curiosity about how Scripture addresses difficult life questions and what it practically looks like to pursue a godly relationship leading toward dating and marriage.
  • Married Couples Conference (Santiago): Hosted near the Monument of Santiago for local Dominican couples. On Day 1, Pastor Dan Cooley (family friend and retired pastor from AnchorPoint Church, El Ranchero, NM; he has missionary experience in Haiti and Mexico and is also an author) taught how marriage reflects the Trinity, God’s love, and His perfect design for relationships. On Day 2, the focus shifted to practical application—cultivating sacrificial love between husbands and wives, working through common marital challenges using biblical processes, and taking active steps to build a healthy, God-centered marriage.
  • Pastors & School Administrators Conference (La Vega): Held at a Christian school specifically for Haitian pastors and school administrators.
    •  Focused on essential rest and self-care, encouraging leaders (many of whom work grueling hours) to continually sow into their personal relationship with Jesus so they can pour out into others. We also covered sermon preparation, equipping them to get to the true heart of the text so they can preach God’s Word with complete confidence.
    • Administrators Track: Examined school leadership from the ground up—defining ultimate student goals, teaching toward those goals, proactively identifying and preventing operational blind spots, establishing consistency and security, and managing effective operations on a shoestring budget.

At every single conference, attendees shared how deeply appreciative and helped they were, with many asking when the next event would take place.

Next Steps & Challenge: With this momentum, we want to challenge you to reach out to leaders in their local churches and invite/challenge them to step up as the next round of instructors for the Ezra Institute.
